MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

Gross but effective!
I suffer from enlarged pores and sebaceous filaments. Pore strips were all the rage in the 90s but it was good to try them again. For my skin type, I decided to oil-cleanse my skin first to loosen the 'plugs' in my pores. After rinsing and drying and wetting my nose, I put this on and leave it for 12 minutes until it dries completely.
I gently peel the strip off and can see all the grey brown gunk all over the strip. Kinda gross, but also satisfying! With the gunk removed, my pores look cleaner and less noticeable. My nose didn't dry out and peel the next day which was good.
I don't use this very often and definitely not when my skin is dry. It is effective but not something you want to use all the time, as the adhesive is very strong. But I think it's better than squeezing.

Effectively improves pores!
Biore deep cleansing nose strips are designed to fit any nose shape or size. The strips are presented in hygenically sealed, singular packages that easily tear vertically down to open.
Each strip has a plastic backing that peels off to reveal a sticky patch that easily binds onto blemishes, blackheads, pimples and impurities of the nose.
I applied it to a pre washed face using tap water only and found the patch quite comfortable to wear and non irritating.
I found that it remained in place firmly by avoiding facial or mouth movements as it unsticks around the edges with too much expression.
The strip needs to be kept on for 10 minutes before peeling off so that it can effectively work.
Surprisingly, I could see a large amount of impurities removed from the nose that weren't completely visible on the skin surface prior to application.
My skin felt soft, smooth and luxiourishly clean!

A classic fave!
I would like to thank Beautyheaven and Biore for giving me the opportunity to trial pore strips. I think most of us are familiar with what a pore strip is, We’ve all seen those gross yet fascinating after shots of all the gunk on a used pore strip. For this trial, I used it on both myself and my husband who is prone to blackheads, whiteheads and congestion along his nose. I always find a pore strip really fun to use, it’s like giving yourself a mini facial and the visible results are always weirdly satisfying to see. I do enjoy the packaging of these, as they are quite thin and small you can stash them in your bathroom drawer for easy access. I apply these to my nose and my husband‘s nose after doing a cleanse and tone, and left them for 15 minutes until they had dried and felt nice and firm.
One tip I will say, is to be careful when pulling them off as you can cause a bit of stinging if you don’t take enough care. I loved seeing the results, and was mildly horrified/fascinated at what had come out of both our faces. Both our noses looked cleaner and felt much smoother after use. These are a fun little addition to a skincare routine, and if you like seeing visible results from products, these are definitely for you!
