MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

General Information
Fast, non drowsy 24 hr relief of the symptoms of hayfever allergies and itchy skin rash or hives.
Telfast 180mg Tablets for hayfever allergy relief. Telfast 180mg is an antihistamine that provides fast, non-drowsy relief of hayfever allergy symptoms and itchy skin rash or hives.
Use Telfast 180mg for relief of the following hayfever allergy symptoms:
- Sneezing
- Runny and itchy nose
- Itchy and watery eyes
- Itchy throat
Use Telfast 180mg for the relief of the following symptoms of itchy skin rash or hives (urticaria):
- Itchy skin rash
- Itch caused by hives
- Swelling related to allergy
- Swelling related to hives
Telfast hayfever allergy relief is fast acting antihistamine - it works within just 1 hour. Telfast 180mg also provides 24 hour relief of symptoms.
Telfast contains an active ingredient called fexofenadine hydrochloride. It is one of a group of medicines called antihistamines. Antihistamines help reduce allergic symptoms by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which your body produces when exposed to certain substances.
Telfast is a non-sedating antihistamine which means it has been shown to not cause drowsiness. With just one tablet a day you can get on with your day without worrying about your allergies.

I have suffered with hives for years, nothing ever helped the itch and the burning associated with the hives until I tried Telfast! It was like a miracle pill for me and worked almost immediately!
