MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

How To Prepare Novalac Sweet Dreams
Wash the feeding bottle, cap, teat and any utensils to be used and sterilise them in boiling water.
Boil clean drinking water for 5 minutes and allow to cool to 40°C. Pour the required amount of water (see Feeding Guide) into the bottle.
Measure the correct quantity of formula (see Feeding Guide) into the bottle using the scoop provided. Always use one level scoopful (4.3g) per 30mL of water.
Secure the lid on the bottle and shake for at least 30 seconds until the powder is completely dissolved. Let cool to lukewarm temperature (37°C) without re-shaking. Test the temperature on your wrist before feeding.

Always wash your hands before preparing a bottle. Each bottle should be prepared individually. Only use the measuring scoop provided. It is recommended that formula be used immediately after it is prepared.

Skimmed cow's milk, vegetable oils (palm, sunflower, soy, rapeseed), maltodextrin, corn starch, lactose, emulsifier (soy lecithin), L-cystine, vitamins (A, B1, B12, B2, B6, C, D3, E, K1, biotin, folic acid, niacin, pantothenic acid), choline bitartrate, sodium chloride, L-tryptophan, taurine, L-isoleucine, ferrous sulphate, inositol, zinc sulphate, magnesium oxide, antioxidants (extract rich in tocopherols), L-carnitine, potassium iodide, sodium selenite, cupric sulphate, manganese sulphate. Contains soy, milk.
Directions

Contents may settle. Store in a cool, dry place and protect from light. Use within 3 weeks of opening. Do not use after the 'Use by' date, which is on the base of the can.

Great formula but chemist warehouse charges more than any other chemist and they are meant to be cheaper always as for a price match maybe they will get the hint!

Smells good, reduces spit ups
Smells good, my 3 month old son seemed to like the taste but we didn’t see any difference to how full it made him in between feeds. We did however see a difference in the amount of spit ups. Worth a shot if you’re looking for a slightly heavier formula but not as thick as the specifically thickened formulas.
