MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

General Information
Natural cooling relief for fever.
Kool 'n' Soothe Fever are soft hydro cooling gel sheet designed to provide immediate cooling relief to your hot / feverish child. With no need for preparation they are ready to use straight from the pack and once placed on the forehead they provide a gentle cooling sensation for up to 8 hours*. Kool 'n' Soothe Fever is non-medicinal so can be used with pain medication to help comfort your child and give you reassurance. Kool 'n' Soothe Fever can also be used whenever the need arises for cooling relief, e.g. headache, to aid restful sleep, or during the hot summer months to cool and refresh.
*The duration of cooling depends on conditions of usage.
Warnings
?For external use only. Not to be eaten.
?This is not a medicine. Targeted immediate cooling relief to alleviate a child's discomfort when he/she has a fever.
If fever persists, see a doctor.
?If your child has a headache or a rash, or your child's temperature remains high, see a doctor.
?If any irritation such as swelling, rashes, etc., occurs during or after application, discontinue use and see a doctor.
?Do not use on irritated or injured skin (cut, eczema, rash, burns, sun burn, thermal injury, etc.)
?Use only as directed.
?Please use promptly after opening, as cooling effect gradually decreases.
?Not for children under 2 years.
?Store away from children and those unable to use the product safely by themselves.
Due to risk of suffocation or choking:
?Supervision is required for those who cannot remove the product by themselves: babies, infants, children or the physically disabled, etc. To prevent suffocation, do not cover mouth or nostrils.
Common Uses
Kool 'n' Soothe Fever can be used whenever the need arises for cooling relief, e.g. headache or hot and humid nights.
Ingredients
Water soluble polymer, Paraben, Menthol
Directions
?Take one soft gel sheet, remove transparent film and firmly affix the cooling gel surface to desired body part.
?Cut the KOOL 'n' SOOTHE gel sheet to a suitable size with scissors if necessary.
?Does not stick to hair, eyebrows or wet skin.
?Single use only, for hygiene and effectiveness.
?Re-application will cause the gel sheet to become less adhesive.
? To keep the unused sheet fresh, tightly fold pouch twice along the dotted line after opening.
