MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

What is Dry Eye?Dry Eye is a condition that occurs when your eyes either produce too few tears or the quality of your tears are poor. This can cause dryness, discomfort and may interfere with vision.
Symptoms of Dry Eye include: burning or stinging, gritty or foreign body sensation, and watery or blurry.
How to use REFRESH® Eye Drops
Step 1Wash hands with soap and water; dry them with a clean towel. Tilt your head back with both eyes open and look at a point on the ceiling.
With your index finger, gently pull your lower eyelid to form a small pocket inside the eyelid.
Step 2With the other hand, gently squeeze
1 drop into the pocket.
Do not allow the tip to come into contact with your eye.
Step 3Slowly close both eyes, but do not blink or squeeze your eyes, and gently press the inner corners of your eyes (by your nose) with your fingers for about
2 minutes.
This will help the eye drops remain in your eye for a longer period.
Step 4Gently blot extra drops from face with a damp cloth.
Repeat steps 1-4 for the other eye.
Replace the cap immediately after use.

Why Sterile Single-Use Containers?
Eye drops are prone to bacterial contamination and are therefore generally discarded 4 weeks from the time of first opening the bottle. REFRESH® eye drops are different. Each single-use container remains sterile until it is opened. Therefore there is no need to discard REFRESH® eye drops like bottled eye drops.

Conveniently packed and effective
Good product. Been using this for years. Really like the individual use per vial as it’s less wasteful overall and hygienic. Especially like that it’s preservative-free – I’ve got sensitive eyes and this product doesn’t smart. A staple in our medicine cabinet for years – good for washing out grit after being outdoors on windy days, and for general use.
