Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

It really helps
I have found the spray easy to use although I have had a couple of dud ones that the spray doesn't come out very well. It really works and has helped me quit after smoking for 40 years. I have not had a smoke for 3 1/2 weeks. I use the Nicorette app to track my sprays and the app provides daily tips and a place to add my reasons for quitting. I find the app really helpful. I would definitely recommend this product.

It Works!
AMAZING product! After smoking over 30 years I started vaping as a way to quit cigarettes as I had tried everything. Wanting to be healthier and stop smoking completely I tried the Nicorette QuitMist as a last resort. I still can't believe it but it works! Because its sprayed under your tongue its fast absorbing and stops cravings within seconds which was my biggest problem. I wish I knew about this product years ago and recommend to anyone serious about quitting once and for all. You won't regret it.

It works!!
I smoked for 30 years and have tried to quit so many times. I had started to think that I would never be able to stop. This has been a great tool to help with cravings. I am so ready to quit.
Even though I have tried to quit many times, & I noticed each time I tried, my quitting smoking time has gotten longer.
Been on my mind over last year to try again.
My mind,body & heart was in tune with each other & knew it was time.
Trying nicorette is the first time to help me quit. Cold Turkey wasn't working as it did in n previous years.
I have to be aware of my trigger points as well.
The cool berry spray I thought I try this time. This one works for me.
I'm on my 7th week for no smoking, every week I give myself a pat on my back.
I feel happier, no coughing, no chest infection & my mental health I hope to improve.

Absolute best product for the heavily addicted smoker
I battled smoking addiction for years. I smoked a 25g tobacco pouch or a pack of 50 cigarettes in 2 days most of the time. I'd try to quit, but always had a burning need to smoke. As any smoker would know, it's the quick rush of nicotine in a cigarette that is hard to replicate without tobacco. Enter the quickmist. This is by far the fastest way to absorb a dose of nicotine. And it's this fast delivery that was able to satisfy my savage cravings for a Winnie blue. I quit 98 days ago, and it's the quickmist that has got me through. I went from very frequent sprays to now only using it here and there. But I think I'll keep some around for a while longer as a safety net. I now hate the smell of smoke and I'll never go back. This is hands down the best NRT available for someone that really craves the quick hit that smoking provides.

Really works, best price available
I have basically replaced cigarettes with these.I know it's probably not designed for long term use, but 3 years on, still no cigarettes, just a 3 pack of these a fortnight and my health and wallet are much better off.It gives you something to look forward to with coffee etc, and helps relieve the weird bored/ something missing type of feeling you get when you give up the smokes. As a Chef it's also good to get your nicotine hit without leaving the kitchen.

VERY HELPFUL - HIGHLY RECCOMENDED
This is my third attempt to quit after relapsing in the past.
Four months as a non smoker and I know I've nailed it this time. The spray has been an enormous help to me (along with willpower) and a significant reason I didn't go buy a packet of smokes when the going got hard. I'd suggest to anyone who is determined to quit to give this a go. For me, its been a godsend.

I swam laps of the pool today with lungs full of air. Quitting after 25 years as a smoker has been life changing and worth all the effort.
